Bonnie Joseph Academy of Cosmetology and Barbering Curriculum makes students eligible to get their State License, work in a high end salon and advance their career as a professional cosmetologist.

If you want to work in the beauty industry, our Utah cosmetology curriculum will prepare you to pass your state's exams, while teaching you everything you need to know about business management, general sciences, hair design and more. With a total of 1600 hours, here is how the Cosmetology Curriculum is divided and what you will learn:

Pre-Clinical 160 hrs.

General Sciences 150 hrs.

  • Tools and equipment for cosmetology, barbering; high frequency or galvanic current and heat lamps
  • Anatomy

Esthetics 190hrs.

  • Temporary removal of superfluous hair by waxing
  • Treatment of the skin

  • Application of makeup including; application of false eyelashes; arching of the eyebrows; tinting of the eyelashes and eyebrows

Nails 190 hours

  • natural nail manicures and pedicures
  • artificial nail techniques including; wraps, nail tips, gel nails, sculptured acrylic nails, and nail art

Hair Design 690 hrs

  • Properties of the hair skin and scalp
  • Hair styling
  • Wet and thermal styling
