Basic Esthetics

Bonnie Joseph Academy of Cosmetology and Barbering prepares its students for employment in the beauty and cosmetology industry as an esthetician or a salon owner or manager. Our Utah Esthetician Curriculum teaches students everything they need to know to get their state license and to adapt to any working environment.

Students who choose the Basic Esthetician Curriculum will be skin care professionals, with numerous employment opportunities in salon or spas, providing people with professional skincare treatments. The total Basic Essthetics Curriculum consists of 600 hours, divided in the following course:

Pre-Clinical 60 hrs.

General Sciences 40 hrs.

High Frequency and Light Therapy 40 hrs

  • High frequency or galvanic current

Skin Science and Histology 40 hrs.

Chemical Peels 40 hrs

  • Limited chemical exfoliation

Waxing 30 hrs

  • Temporary removal of superfluous hair by waxing

Skin Science 40 hrs

  • Treatment of the skin

Facial Enhancement 40 hrs

  • Application of makeup

  • Arching of the eyebrows

Esthetics 80 hrs

Manicure and Pedicure 40 hrs
